Race Director – Dave Annandale

Coming from a mountaineering and trekking background that took him all over the world, Dave has competed in numerous running events, Marathons, Half marathons, off-road events, and including many deserts, jungle, and wild country ultras over the years, including the MDS in Morocco (twice), and also events in Europe, the Himalayas, Mongolia, Chile, Northern China, Tibet, Peru, Egypt, and Antarctica.

In addition to having competed, Dave has also been involved in creating courses for ultras around the World and has previously been involved with course preparation and design in Vietnam, Nepal, Gobi (twice) Nepal, and Namibia.
Dave has also been Race Director for many Half Marathons, 24-hour ultra-events, the Commonwealth Ultra championships in 2009, and was Event Director for the 2011 Commonwealth Ultra Championships.

In addition, Dave has been responsible for creating and organising the OMM Iceland event, Original Mountain Marathon that has been in the Reykjanes area of Iceland for 7 years. He has previously competed in the many UK and Swiss-based KIMMs ( former name of the OMM ) as well as many other Mountain Marathons in the UK and Europe.

With the benefit of a great deal of experience as both a competitor and event organiser, Dave clearly understands the needs of the ultra and adventure racer.
